Plan the opening around everyday use
Think about how often you’ll open one door and when you’ll want the full width. In a typical hinged pair, one leaf provides everyday passage while the second stays secured until needed. Check the usable width through that first door, as well as the space for both to swing.
The center line is part of the design. Panel heights and glass divisions should relate across the pair, and the handles should work with the meeting edges. We build the doors together so these details can be coordinated.

Double screen and storm doors are a separate pair for a porch or in front of main entry doors. Choose screen for airflow, glass for added weather protection, or removable inserts to change between them. Plan the clearance between the two door systems, including their handles.
Consider glass or divided operation
French doors emphasize glazing and can be made as a pair, although French designs can also be single doors. Choose the glass layout according to the light and privacy you want.
