Our porch enclosure panels use the same construction and base designs as our screen and storm doors. The panels are custom-sized and installed in fixed positions between porch posts or framing. A separate, matching door provides access.
Mahogany sills, H-astragals that join adjacent panels, and panel stops bring the enclosure together. Plan these installation components alongside the panels and door. Screen and storm transoms can fill the space above taller sections.
Find the style for your porch
Traditional panels use familiar, balanced divisions. Craftsman panels emphasize square profiles and strong rail lines. Victorian panels coordinate decorative patterns with porch woodwork, while Louver panels use angled slats to interrupt direct views. Compare the designs across a whole porch, including the door, to choose the amount of detail you want.
Screens for airflow, glass for changing weather
Removable screen and glass inserts let the wood frames stay in place year-round. Screens admit fresh air while keeping insects out; storm glass helps shelter the porch from wind and rain. Exchange the inserts from inside using the retaining clips. This creates a three-season porch enclosure, with seasonal comfort dependent on your climate.
Fiberglass screen and clear tempered storm glass are standard choices. High-visibility, No-See-Um, and pet-resistant mesh offer alternatives for different needs. Removable inserts have aluminum frames in white or bronze; larger inserts can be supplied in two sections for easier handling. Fixed screen or glass is available when seasonal changes are not needed.
Plan the dimensions and details together
Measure the clear width and height of each finished opening inside the posts, trim, or framing. Our craftspeople can use those measurements to help calculate panel sizes and divide wider spans. Shaped panels can fill angled or curved areas.
We build with kiln-dried solid wood and traditional joinery, in thicknesses from 1⅛ to 1¾ inches. African Mahogany is our standard, a beautiful, durable choice. Other species should suit the porch’s exposure. Panels arrive unfinished for exterior-grade finishing and full sealing before installation.
