Consider the view from both sides
Louver porch enclosure panels use angled wood slats to limit direct views while allowing air through screened sections. Customize the dimensions and layout around your porch’s seating areas, surrounding views, and existing woodwork.
Louvers can be useful where a porch faces a neighboring property, path, or street. The angled slats interrupt direct views, but how much they conceal depends on the viewing angle and the layout. Consider where people will sit on the porch and where someone outside will be standing.
A lower louvered section can screen the area around porch furniture while an open screen or glass section above preserves more of the view. Compare the height of that transition with your seating and the sightline from nearby paths.
Plan ventilation and seasonal shelter
Air can pass through the louver openings when the panel is fitted with screen. Storm glass closes off airflow through the area it covers and adds shelter from the weather. Where removable screen and glass inserts are available for the selected design, you can change between them while leaving the wood enclosure panels installed.

Carry the louver design around the porch
Aligning the rails and louvered sections across adjoining panels gives the enclosure a consistent pattern. Plan the widths around the spaces between your posts, and include an operating door wherever you need access. Our Louver Screen & Storm Doors offer a companion to the fixed panels.
The wood and finish also shape the result. Standard African Mahogany provides a durable solid wood frame with grain that can show through stain. Paint can bring the louvers into the same palette as the porch trim. Discuss any alternative species with the outdoor exposure in mind, and finish and seal the panels before installation.
