Solid wood construction with a visible panel pattern
Vertical stiles and horizontal rails form the frame of a paneled door. The panels between them give the design its pattern, from familiar six-panel arrangements to simpler layouts with fewer, larger panels. We use solid wood for these parts, without veneers, hollow cores, or finger joints.
Raised panels add depth and shadow; recessed flat panels give the surface a quieter profile. Consider how those details relate to nearby cabinetry, baseboards, and door casing. In a tall opening, the spacing of the rails matters as much as the number of panels.
Choose interior or exterior construction
Our solid wood interior doors provide a visual boundary between rooms. They are 1½ inches thick as standard, with a 1¾-inch option, and can be made as slabs or pre-hung doors for your project.
Solid wood exterior doors combine panel designs with construction for an outdoor entry. Standard thickness is 1¾ inches, with thicknesses available up to 2¼ inches. Pre-hung options include weather seals and a threshold. Choose this collection when the door will separate your home from the outdoors.
