Double Screen & Storm Doors

Paired by design and built to last.

Double doors change the scale of an entry in a way that's hard to achieve any other way. These pairs are built with the structural care that wide openings require — solid wood, proper joinery, and hardware sized to the job — so they operate well and hold their shape over time.

Screen doors for French doors and double entries

Add ventilation and seasonal protection to a French or double entry with a pair of solid wood screen and storm doors. We build each pair to your opening, with coordinated proportions, center meeting details, and screen or glass inserts.

A paired entry needs screen doors that work together across the full opening. Begin with the shape and panel arrangement of your main doors, then compare where the screen doors’ horizontal rails and center edges will sit. Related proportions can keep glass and decorative details visible through the pair.

Our hinged wood pairs can serve as French screen doors or French storm doors, depending on the inserts you choose. They sit in front of the main entry. If you’re also replacing the main doors, browse our French exterior doors or double exterior doors to plan the complete entry.

Plan how the pair meets and closes

The center meeting point is an important part of a double screen door installation. A flat or T-astragal, a strip along the meeting edge, covers the seam between the two doors. It should be considered together with the hardware and how you’ll use the opening.

Think about which door you’ll use for everyday passage and how you want to secure the pair when closed. Double-door hardware kits are available, and our team can help you coordinate the center detail and hardware with your chosen design. Planning these details together helps your installer understand how the pair is intended to work.

Double storm doors with seasonal inserts

Choose removable screen and glass inserts to use the same wood doors through the seasons. Screen allows ventilation when the main doors are open; tempered storm glass adds a layer of weather protection when needed. The inserts change while the paired wood frames stay in place.

Screen options include standard fiberglass, high-visibility, No-See-Um, pet-resistant, aluminum, and copper bronze. Clear tempered and Low-E storm glass are available, with selected decorative glass options for compatible designs.

Customize a solid wood pair for your opening

We build each pair from kiln-dried solid wood with traditional joinery, to the dimensions you provide. Standard thicknesses range from 1⅛ to 1¾ inches. African Mahogany comes standard. When choosing the wood for your pair, consider both its appearance alongside the main entry doors and the amount of weather it will face.

Doors arrive unfinished so you can paint or stain them to coordinate with the main entry. We provide guidance for sealing every surface before installation.

Choose a paired design above to customize your dimensions, wood, and inserts online. If you need help with the meeting edges, hardware, or measurements, our craftspeople can work through those details with you.
