Find the pattern in the woodwork
Strong wood framing, rectangular panels, and carefully placed glass give Craftsman doors their character. Explore solid wood designs for a bungalow or Arts and Crafts home, with dimensions and details you can coordinate from the entry to the rooms beyond.
The vertical sides and horizontal rails of a Craftsman door create much of its design. Compare their widths with nearby casing, porch posts, or built-in cabinetry. A broad rail can continue a line already present in the house; a group of tall panels can relate to neighboring windows.
Glass above wood panels is one familiar arrangement, but the balance can vary. Smaller upper panes leave more room for wood below, while taller glass changes both the view and the amount of daylight. Look at the complete doorway, including its trim, as you compare designs.
Carry Craftsman details through the home
Our Craftsman exterior doors combine those design choices with construction for the main outdoor entry. Glazed versions use insulated tempered glass. Selected designs include a shelf below the glass; consider its projection if a screen door will sit in front.
Craftsman interior doors offer panel layouts and profiles for rooms and hallways. Flat panels with square sticking—the profile where the frame meets the panel—keep the transitions simple. Coordinating the rail heights across doors of different widths can help a hallway feel consistent.
At the porch, Craftsman screen and storm doors let you add seasonal screen or glass while keeping the main door’s details visible. Craftsman porch enclosure panels carry related patterns across fixed sections between posts. The door provides access; the enclosure panels remain in place.
Choose wood that complements the design
A stained finish can emphasize the grain across the frame and panels. African Mahogany is our standard wood, offering beauty and durability. Interior doors have all 17 wood options; exterior doors, screen and storm doors, and porch panels need species suited to their exposure.
We handcraft each piece from kiln-dried solid wood with traditional joinery and supply it unfinished. Choose the product for its intended opening, then customize the dimensions and available options online. Our craftspeople can help you coordinate a Craftsman door with existing woodwork and explain the finishing and installation choices for that application.
