Screen and storm options for an exterior opening
These exterior louvered doors serve as screen and storm doors in front of a main entry or at a porch opening. Depending on the design, screen or glass can be fixed in place or supplied as removable inserts. A glass insert closes off airflow through the area it covers; removable inserts let you change between ventilation and added weather protection.
Fiberglass is the standard screen, with alternatives including high-visibility, No-See-Um, and pet-resistant mesh. Clear tempered and Low-E storm glass are available. Check the insert arrangement for your chosen design as you configure the door; the placement of the louvers is part of that choice.
Solid wood made to your dimensions
We set the louvers within a solid wood stile-and-rail frame, using kiln-dried wood and traditional joinery. Standard door thicknesses range from 1⅛ to 1¾ inches. Custom sizing lets you plan for a new opening or work with the dimensions of an existing one.
Wood and finish deserve attention around the louvers as well as the frame. Our standard African Mahogany is a durable choice with an attractive natural grain; any alternative species should suit the door’s weather exposure. Your door arrives unfinished, with guidance for sealing and painting or staining every surface before installation, including the louver details.
