Both the dimensions and the curve need to suit your doorway, whether the arch rises gently or forms a full round top. That’s why we custom-build each door using the exact measurements and profile you provide for your opening.
The layout below the arch matters as well. Compare the horizontal rails, lower panels, and open screen areas with the main entry door. A related arrangement helps keep its glass and wood detailing visible. For paired openings, arched double screen and storm doors can be made as a coordinated pair.
Round top storm doors with screen and glass choices
Choose a removable insert system if you want the same shaped wood door to serve as both a screen door and a storm door. Screen lets air through when your main door is open; a matching tempered-glass insert adds weather protection when you need it. Fixed screen or fixed glass is also available.
Fiberglass is the standard screen, with alternatives including high-visibility, No-See-Um, pet-resistant, copper bronze, and black or silver aluminum. Clear tempered and Low-E storm glass are available, with selected beveled or patterned options by request. Removable insert frames come in bronze or white.
Plan the measurements and curve together
For a shaped opening, accurate measurements or a template will be needed to establish the profile. Width and overall height alone may not fully describe the arch. Our craftspeople can help you work through which details to provide for your particular opening.
When replacing a door in an existing frame, include the frame and installation setup in that discussion. Before any door order is built, you’ll receive drawings to review and approve, giving you a chance to check the dimensions and design together.
Configure your solid wood arched door
We use kiln-dried solid wood and traditional joinery, with standard thicknesses from 1⅛ to 1¾ inches. Our standard wood is African Mahogany, bringing natural beauty and durability to the shaped frame. We can help you evaluate other species for the conditions at your entry.
