Keep the design when you change from screen to glass
A rustic storm door can carry the same outdoor scene as your summer screen door. With removable inserts, you exchange the screen for tempered storm glass while the decorative wood stays in place. You can let air through in warm weather and add glass when you want more protection from the weather.
Standard choices include fiberglass screen and clear tempered glass. Other screening options include high-visibility, No-See-Um, pet-resistant, aluminum, and copper bronze. Low-E and selected frosted or patterned storm glass are also available. Removable insert frames come in bronze or white to coordinate with the finish.
Solid wood for a cabin or home entry
We build our rustic screen and storm doors from kiln-dried solid wood with traditional joinery. Each is made to your measurements, with standard thicknesses from 1⅛ to 1¾ inches. That lets you choose a design for an existing doorway as well as a new porch.
With our standard African Mahogany, a stained finish lets the natural grain become part of the scene around the cutouts. Paint offers another way to bring out the design and coordinate it with your trim. If you choose a different species, make sure it suits the door’s exposure.
Your door arrives unfinished, with guidance for sealing all surfaces before installation. The edges within the cutouts need finishing too, so the decorative work receives the same protection as the surrounding frame.
