Choose the detail that suits the opening

Find a cottage style door with the proportions and details that make the entrance feel welcoming. Choose from solid wood designs with glass, Dutch openings, or shaped tops, then customize the size and options for your home.

A cottage door can be simple and paneled, bright with glass, or shaped to follow an arched entrance. Begin with the opening and the woodwork around it. On a smaller facade, the height of a glass section or the curve at the top can become the feature that draws the eye.

For a curved entrance, our arch and round top exterior doors can follow the dimensions and profile of the frame. Consider how the glass or panels sit beneath that curve. A simpler lower section can leave the shape at the top as the main feature.

A Dutch door for a porch or garden entrance
Our Dutch exterior doors offer another way to connect a cottage with its porch or garden. Open the upper half to talk with someone outside or enjoy the air, then fasten both halves together for full-door operation.

A glazed upper half keeps the connection to the garden visible even when the door is closed. A more paneled design gives the wood and finish a larger role. Choose the arrangement you want to see from the room as well as from the path.

Add a cottage screen and storm door
A screen door can bring fresh air through the entrance while the main door is open. Choose a pattern that leaves the main door’s glass or panel details visible. Our Traditional Screen & Storm Doors offer straightforward layouts that can complement a cottage entry.

Removable screen and glass inserts let that same wood door serve as a cottage storm door when the weather calls for more shelter. If the entrance has a shaped top, plan the screen door’s profile with the main door and frame.

Make the finish part of the design
A painted door can pick up a color from garden-facing trim or window frames. Stain shows the grain of our standard African Mahogany. Choose wood suited to the application and exposure; the doors arrive unfinished with guidance for sealing and finishing before installation.

Select a cottage design above to customize its dimensions and options online. Our craftspeople can help with a narrow opening, a curved top, or the relationship between the main door and a companion screen door.
